HealthAware is a responsive website that helps users track and fact-check their health care expenses. Upon receiving a medical bill in the mail, we aid in the process of reviewing these bills to ensure that each line item reflects the correct medical procedures and that users are being charged fare rates for the services rendered.
Percentages determined by user testing.
When users compare their medical bills with Medicare costs, we calculate the percentage difference, dollar difference and display a side-by-side visual display of both costs.
Three phases of user testing were implemented for this project. Testing included email questionaires, moderated in-person testing with both paper prototypes as well as a live url. Moderated in-person testing included concurrent thinking aloud and retrospective probing.
Although the United States struggles with a health care system that is unaffordable and inefficient, HealthAware provides a solution to one aspect of this issue. HealthAware effectively gives Americans the ability to review their medical bills for correct procedures and costs, then helps them take action towards quickly correcting those errors. By using our site, users can gain a solid understanding of fair market rates for healthcare procedures.
